What does Printify do?

Well, we don't print. We focus on technology and as a result you get a platform that provides you with the highest quality product images, instant access to the leading world-class Print Providers and automated Print on Demand Drop Shipping order fulfillment. Our solution is great. We're available in the Shopify App Store and WordPress Plugins.

 

Printify is a business solution that provides you with automated technology for your custom product fulfillment. We have a selection of Print on Demand products - apparel, accessories, home decor and other products.

 

Once you select the products you want to sell, we provide you with the technology for product design - Prinify Mockup Generator. You can upload several image layers, edit image positioning, choose several product variants, edit product titles, descriptions and prices. You publish your Printify products on your Shopify or WooCommerce store. When your clients buy your products, we manage automated order production and shipping directly to your customer - with your branding.

How do I get started?

With Printify your great ideas become great products in no time. It's easy to add your design to shirts, mugs, shower curtains and more. We manage automated order Print on Demand production and shipping, so you can focus on selling.

 

To get started with Printify, you need a great design and a Shopify or WooCommerce store - or you can use Printify without connecting to an online store by creating manual orders for your customers. If you don't have a Shopify store, you can start your 14-day free trial now.

 

First of all, you need to get our app at the Shopify App Store, integrate Printify with your WooCommerce store or simply to sign up. Explore our offer, check out our Brands and Print Providers. Select the products that you want to sell, upload your design in Printify Mockup Generator, edit the details and save your products. You can check out our video tutorial on How to create a product with Printify.

 

To make sure that your products look awesome in real life as well, we advise you to order samples. Touch your creative babies before you start selling them.

Fill out all the required account information, set up shipping and publish your products. When your clients place orders, we manage automated Print on Demand production and shipping - directly to your customer with your branding.

Shopify is a complete ecommerce solution that allows you to set up an online store to sell your goods. It lets you organize your products, customize your storefront, accept credit card payments, track and respond to orders — all with a few clicks. You can start with a 14-day free trial.

You also need to take into account the cost of domain hosting, funds for apps that you are planning to use, accounting expenses and taxes, your advertising budget and other expenses, depending on what you're planning to achieve.

WooCommerce

Other

Is Printify available on other ecommerce platforms? Not yet. In case your store is set up on another ecommerce platform, you can still use Printify - but you will need to make manual orders for your customers.

Pricing & Payment

How much do I pay and how?

We charge no monthly fee. You get instant access to a Print Provider network, high quality product images from our Mockup Generator and an automated Print on Demand order fulfillment system for free.

 

Pay for production and shipping only after selling. For each product there are different production and shipping costs; you can check out our product prices in our Catalog and the shipping prices in our Shipping Guide.

 

Product prices

Each product has a different price. T-shirt prices start at $5.99, phone cases - $9.31, mugs - $4.40, shower curtains - $35.33. You can check out our Catalog to see all product prices.

 

Why are prices different for products in the same category?

This depends on a few different variables. For example, we have shirts from different brands, and each brand has different prices. Before you choose the shirts you want to sell, you need to have a clear understanding which brands are suited for your store.

 

You also need to select Print Providers for your products. Our Print Providers are different in terms of price, quality and location - taking that into account, you need to select Print Providers that suit your store the best. That will allow you to have production quality and prices that suit your store concept, and you will be able to save your clients money and reduce the shipping time by selecting a Print Provider located nearest to your main target audience.

 

How do I set up payment?

First of all, you need to set up your account and choose a preferred payment method. You can pay using your credit card or PayPal. Once you sell something, Printify automatically receives the production request. We deduct the cost to produce the products from the credit card linked to your account.

 

Issues with payment

In case you have been charged for Printify services several times per day and your account has been blocked, you will need to get in touch with your bank.

 

Now you are able to send orders to production at a certain time once a day. That means that you will be charged for Printify orders only one time a day, thus eliminating the risk for your credit card being blocked.

What are the printing and retail prices?

With Printify you can choose what price you sell your products for. When you're creating new Printify products, you see our suggested retail prices - inspired by industry standards. However, depending on your store concept and product design, you can have different prices for your products.

 

Product prices

How do I get paid?

Shopify

Whenever your clients buy something on your online store, you receive the product and shipping costs you have set up to your Shopify account. Our prices are then automatically deducted from your Printify account once we receive the order.

You can accept payments through the following:

- Paypal

- Credit card gateway

- Shopify Payments

- Google Wallet

- Bitcoin

 

WooCommerce

Whenever your clients buy something on your online store, you receive the product and shipping costs you have set up to your WordPress account. Our prices are then automatically deducted from your Printify account once we receive the order.

You can accept payments through the following:

- Credit, Debit cards through PayPal gateway

- PayPal

- Bank transfers

- Check payments

However, you can add extra payment gateways as an extension (plugin) - Stripe, Amazon pay and others. See more information in WooCommerce Payment Way Page

What are the VAT conditions in EU?

Value Added Tax (VAT) is applied to all orders that are printed in European Union (for example UK) and shipped to any of the European Union countries.

 

When shipping products from United Kingdom, 20% VAT is applied.

 

VAT exemption.
In order to be tax exempt, you need to have an official business registered in one of EU countries and have a VAT number.


If you have a VAT number, contact us via e-mail customercare@printifyapp.com. After we receive your VAT number we will exempt you from charging VAT. VAT charge will not be applied to your future orders.


Remember, that in the case you have applied for VAT exemption, you are responsible for charging VAT to your customers, that buy products from your store. You have to apply VAT to retail price of products.

Terms & Returns

What are the terms for using Printify?

In short, you add your designs and generate products, and you are responsible for using only designs that you actually own. You add your credit card or PayPal account for payments - you pay only for order production and shipping. In case the payment is unsuccessful, the order will be placed on hold.

Lost or damaged orders, returns and refunds

In the case of damaged goods, there is no need to send the product back to us. Simply email our Customer Care the order number and images of the damaged goods or only the order ID for lost goods and we will have replacements sent out right away.

 

For a lost or damaged order Printify will provide you with a reprint.

 

If there are any issues with the reprint after receiving all required information, we will credit your Printify account with a full order refund within 1 business day after notifying Printify Customer Care. In case of a lost or damaged order, Printify will credit the refund to your Printify account. You can use the funds for future orders or withdraw them to your PayPal account. Please see our Terms of Service for the errors we take full responsibility for.

 

For lost orders over $200 with no tracking information available, refunds will not be provided. All refunds are issued on a case to case basis.

 

In case a refund is issued, it is placed to your Printify balance. The refunded amount can be used to cover the cost of newly placed orders, or can be withdrawn to your PayPal account under the Payment tab.

 

Can my customers return products?

Printify will only review replacement or return requests if the product is missing, damaged or has a print error - provided that it was caused by Printify. Printify is not responsible for incorrectly provided customer information that results in lost or misdirected shipments. In case of a re-shipment, the user must cover the expenses.

Can I use any images for my product design?

If you have found something eye-catching on the internet, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's available for commercial use. You can’t simply use any kind of image unless its author has clearly granted you a license to use it.

 

You must be 100% sure that the person who posts an image on the internet and claims that everyone can use it is the actual copyright owner, otherwise you’ll be violating the rights of the factual design owner.

How much do I need to pay in taxes?

Printify is a drop-ship service provider. We have multiple production facilities. From where it was produced, the printed product is always sent to a different state or country; therefore,  you don’t need to charge your customer sales tax or VAT.

 

You are responsible for paying your own taxes on the profits you make, in your jurisdiction.

What kind of products do you offer?

We have a wide range of products in our Catalog from T-shirts, tank-tops, sweatshirts, to hoodies and other apparel products. Also find phone cases, laptop sleeves, coffee mugs, and travel mugs. There's wall art - posters, wall decals, different canvases - gallery, leather, framed, outdoor and more. Moreover, we have pillows, pillow cases, shower curtains and other custom home decor products.

 

You can sell any of these products with your design at your Shopify or WooCommerce store.

 

We have different Apparel Brands - Bella Canvas, Next Level, Gildan and many more. You can also choose your products by Print Providers like ArtGun, Fifth Sun, Prodigi and more. All of them are best performing Print Providers world-wide. You can choose them by price, quality and location - depending on who fits your store the best.

How do I choose products and print providers for my store?

The first step is understanding what kind of products you want to sell - perhaps sweatshirts, maybe phone cases - or maybe even wall art, mugs, pillows or shower curtains.

 

In case you want to sell apparel products, you first need to check out our Brands and have a clear understanding which of them suit your store concept. These brands are different in terms of quality, price, value and more.

 

Choosing the right Print Provider based on quality, value or location is equally as important. Speed up shipping time and spend less on delivery by choosing Print Providers which are located nearest to your main target audience.

How do I create products with Printify?

 

The first step is to choose a design you want to sell on custom products.

 

Select a product you want to sell. Upload your design in Printify Mockup Generator. Edit image positioning, and add several layers - if needed. Choose your product variants - in which colors, sizes etc. you want to sell your product. Edit details - product titles, descriptions and prices.

 

Once your products are ready, we advise you to order samples. Make sure that your products look just the way you imagine them in real life.

 

In order to start selling, you need to publish your products on your Shopify store or WooCommerce store.

Design & Mockups

How do I prepare a design for Printify?

If you are creating a design for the first time, we highly recommend you read our Design Guide.

 

In short, you need to create your design in a design program (like PS or AI). Always work with the CMYK color profile, make a transparent background and in the end export the design into RGB color mode as a flattened PNG file. 

 

 

When making a design, always create the art board approximately in the same size as the print area. For garments, set the resolution to 300 ppi, but for other items - not lower than 150 ppi.

 

Make sure your design is prepared according to the guidelines, then it's ready for Printify Mockup Generator. Your products will look amazing!

Can you create a design for me?

You just made our designers smile. We are very glad to know that you think of us as design professionals and would make us your No.1 choice for all things design. However, we do not offer any design services because we focus on the magic in our technology.

What parts of the product can I print on?

For most of our garment products we offer both front and back printing, several models can even have sleeves printed.

Production & Shipping

What are the shipping conditions?

When you have finished setting up your Printify products and have made your first sale, we manage automated Print on Demand order production and shipping.

We automatically notify the Print Provider which you have chosen for this product and they start your order production almost instantly. All of our Print Providers use high quality printers that provide you with the best quality products. Once your order is produced, it's shipped with your branding directly to your customer.

All order progress can be checked in your Printify Dashboard. Once the product is shipped, the order is updated with a tracking code. Both you and your customer will also receive an auto-notification email - you will receive it from us, your customer will receive it from your store.

 

What do I need to do?

First of all, you need to finish setting up your account. That consists of filling out your contact information and branding information so that we know what to put on the shipping labels. Also, you need to set up payments so that your orders will be fulfilled automatically. In case you don't set up payments, your orders will be placed on hold.
 

After you set up payments, you need to set up shipping. Either you have flat rates and you need to set up shipping manually:

How can I send an order to production?

First of all, you need to finish setting up your account and payments. In case you don't set up payments, all your orders will be placed on hold.

 

After you've done that, you also need to make sure that you set up your shipping. Read more about it in our Shipping Guide.

 

Furthermore, you need to select whether you want to send orders to production manually or automatically. In case of manual order approval, you will need to go to your Printify Dashboard to approve and send each order to production manually. In case of automated approval your orders will be sent to production automatically - immediately, after an hour, 12 hours or any other time you set.

Can I see the progress of order fulfillment?

All order progress can be checked in your Printify Dashboard. Once the product is shipped, the order will be updated with a tracking code. Both you and your customer will also receive an auto-notification email - you will receive it from us, your customer will receive it from your store.

Can an order be canceled?

You can cancel orders before they go into production. Orders are processed quickly after they are received. This means you only have a few hours to cancel an order after it is placed. After an order goes into the printing process, we do not allow cancellations.
